The Rizq Secret We Ignore!
1 Verse. 1 Story. 1 Lesson.
بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
1 Verse :
‘’Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Surely ˹it is˺ my Lord ˹Who˺ gives abundant or limited provisions to whoever He wills of His servants. And whatever you spend in charity, He will compensate ˹you˺ for it. For He is the Best Provider.” (Surah Saba : 39)
1 Story :
In an authentic hadith narrated by At-Tirmidhi, Anas ibn Mālik (RA) reported:
There were two brothers in the time of the Prophet ﷺ.
One of them used to come to the Prophet ﷺ to learn.
The other was the “responsible” one — he used to work to earn a living.
Like many of us today, the working brother eventually became frustrated.
He complained to the Prophet ﷺ about his brother:
“Ya Rasool Allah ﷺ… my brother doesn’t work. I’m carrying everything.”
If this happened today, we know exactly what the comments would say:
“Bro needs to get a job.”
“Stop being dependent.”
“Cut him off.”
But the Prophet ﷺ — the one who sees with the light of revelation — said something that flips our modern logic upside down:
“Perhaps you are granted sustenance because of him.”
Read that again.
We think the ones we provide for depends on us.
But what if… we depend on them?
Maybe the person we think is a “burden”…
is actually the reason our rizq hasn’t collapsed.
Because the Prophet ﷺ taught:
“Allah helps the servant as long as he helps his brother.” (Sahih Muslim 2699)
You don’t lose by giving.
You grow by giving.
You don’t become poorer by supporting someone.
You become supported by Allah Himself.
Your paycheck isn’t feeding them.
Your service to them is feeding your paycheck.
1 Lesson :
Allah tells you in Surah Saba verse 39 :
“Whatever you spend in charity, He will compensate you for it.”
It’s a guarantee from the One who never breaks His promises.
Nothing you spend for Allah ever disappears.
This verse is correcting a psychology inside us.
We think giving means losing.
We think charity shrinks wealth.
We think generosity creates vulnerability.
But Allah is teaching us :
the math we use for dunya does not apply to barakah.
In the unseen world, nothing you spend ever leaves your life.
It returns to you. In this world + also in Jannah.
If you spend for Allah, its goodness returns.
If you spend for sin, its harm returns.
Either way—your spending is like a boomerang.
It always comes back.
The replacement will come in the form you need, not the form you imagined.
Sometimes the $10 you gave away saves you from a $1000 disaster.
Sometimes a private sadaqah silently cancels a hardship that was already on its way to you.
You don’t see the calamity He diverted.
You don’t see the emotional burden He lifted.
But it’s happening.
And rizq is not just money.
Rizq is also:
mental stability
calmness
a home without chaos
a heart without envy
sleep without nightmares
children who bring joy
breath in your lungs
clarity when you're confused
protection from fitnah
forgiveness of sins
relief from burdens you never talk about
His repayment will always be better.
His timing will always be better than your timing and imagination.
You give a small amount, and Allah opens a door you didn’t even know existed.
Nothing you give is “gone.”
It’s invested.
With the One who sees you, knows you,
and returns to you in ways you cannot measure.
As Allah SWT Himself said in this ayah : “For He is the Best Provider.“
1 Question for you :
‘‘Which person I misjudge as a ‘burden.’ and what if they are my door of barakah? What if they are the reason that Allah is sustaining me?’’
Dhikr of the week :
تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
You cause the night to pass into the day and the day into the night. You bring forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. And You provide for whoever You will without limit. (Surah Ali Imran, 3:27)
