1 Verse. 1 Story. 1 Lesson.

The ayah that built empires — and buried one.

Bismillah.

📖 ONE AYAH

Surah Ibrahim [14:7]

“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.
But if you are ungrateful—My punishment is truly severe.”

Most people only quote the first half.
But this ayah is a double-edged sword.

Gratitude isn’t just a key to increase.
It’s a shield from destruction.

📚 ONE STORY — Qarun (Al-Qasas 28:76–82)

Qarun had it all.
Wealth. Status. Power. Fame.
His treasure was so vast, even the keys to his vaults were a burden for strong men.

People reminded him:

“Be humble. Be grateful. Use it for Allah.”

But Qarun arrogantly replied:

“I was given all this because of my own knowledge.”

No idol worship. No outright denial of Allah.
Just one subtle deviation: self-credit.

But that one shift cost him everything.

Because in Allah’s sight—ingratitude is rebellion.
It’s a theft of Divine credit.

So Allah didn’t send an army.
He sent a sinkhole.

The earth swallowed Qarun—and his wealth—alive.
No warning. No escape. No second chance.

🧠 ONE LESSON

‘‘I did this.”

That one thought violated the essence of Tawheed.

Gratitude (shukr) isn’t a casual Alhamdulillah after a meal.
It’s an acceptance that :

  • This job? Allah gave it.

  • This success? Allah allowed it.

  • This intelligence? Allah designed it.

The moment you whisper, “I earned this,”

Allah warns:

“If you are grateful, I will increase you.
But if not—My punishment is severe.”

Why?
Because ingratitude isn’t innocent.
It fractures your bond with the One who gave you everything.

And the scariest part?

Qarun didn’t say, “There is no God.”
He simply stopped saying:

“This is from Allah.”

And that…
was enough for Allah to erase him.

ONE QUESTION FOR YOU:

Unmasking the Qarun Within

❝ What in my life am I quietly taking credit for…
that belongs entirely to Allah? ❞
